Walden to Hot Sulfur Springs - 97 km/61 m - crossed Willow Creek Pass at 9600 ft today and another Continental Divide crossing, this time with interesting signage.
Long downhill with the usual headwinds to keep it from being too much fun. The change in scenery is dramatic as I transitioned from high Plains to mountains. Really prefer the mountains variety to the unending straight roads of the Plains (and their headwinds)
Stopped briefly at Rand, population 52, mean age of 69. Found a deal on the Rand Yacht Club. Never mind that there are no yachts for 100's of miles. They might even throw in the local police vehicle and a badge.
Two attractions for Hot Sulfur Springs - hot pools for soaking and Mama B's for dinner.
Never saw a motel sign advertising a truck for sale
The truck parked across the street from the motel - would be faster than cycling, wonder how much they want for it?
Buy wood, rent a bicycle or buy a boat - your one stop shopping center
German chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream - what better way to follow meatloaf?
Meatloaf and mashed potatoes - don't let the name throw you off, wonderful food!
Outstanding home cooked meals, not to be missed
Vivian - proof of the health benefits of hot springs....
Wonder how long I have to stay here to look as good as Vivian?
Scenery on the other side of the mountain
Transportation, RV, home on the road
Three ladies from Texas continuosly riding past me
Certified to 9600 ft
Unfortunately we are here on a Tuesday
Appears to be the only active business in town
Will call my realtor. Looks like a great investment once I can locate the Yacht basin
Entering the metropolis of Rand
Don't think calling 911 is going to be effective
